Titanopsis calcarea — often called “Concrete Leaf” or “Jewel Plant” — is a fascinating succulent known for its stone-like appearance that helps it blend into its rocky habitat. It belongs to the Aizoaceae family and originates from the arid regions .

🌿 Appearance

·         The leaves are thick, triangular, and covered with warty, rough-textured tips that resemble limestone or gravel — hence the name “calcarea,” meaning chalky.

·         It typically forms low rosettes, about 5–8 cm wide.

·         In autumn or winter, it produces small daisy-like yellow or orange flowers from the center of the rosette.

🌞 Light Requirements

·         Prefers bright sunlight — at least 4 to 6 hours of direct sun daily.

·         Indoors, place it on a south- or west-facing windowsill.

·         Gradually acclimate to full sun to prevent leaf scorch.
