  1. Red & Green Bromeliad refers to bromeliads with striking foliage that combines green leaves with red, burgundy, or reddish tones. Many varieties form a beautiful central rosette, and some develop vivid colors around flowering time. They are popular ornamental plants because of their bold foliage and relatively easy care.

    ☀️ Care tips

    • Light: Provide bright, filtered or indirect light. Some gentle morning sun is fine, but protect the leaves from harsh afternoon sunlight.
    • Water: Keep the potting mix lightly moist, but never soggy. For tank-forming bromeliads, you can keep a small amount of fresh water in the central cup and replace it regularly.
    • Soil: Use a loose, airy, fast-draining mix such as orchid bark, coco coir, and perlite.
    • Pot: Choose a pot with good drainage. Avoid letting the plant sit in standing water.
    • Temperature: Prefers warm conditions, generally around 18–30°C. Protect from frost and cold drafts.
    • Humidity: Enjoys moderate to high humidity. Good airflow is important, especially in humid climates.
    • Fertilizer: Feed lightly with a diluted, balanced fertilizer every 4–6 weeks during active growth.
    • Water quality: If possible, use rainwater or filtered water, particularly if your tap water is hard.
    • Propagation: After flowering, bromeliads commonly produce pups/offsets around the mother plant. These can be separated once they are reasonably well developed.

🌱 Tip: To maintain vibrant red coloration, provide good bright light without scorching the leaves. If the plant becomes mostly green and loses its red tones, it may need more light.
