The Echeveria Brain Crest gets its name from its brain-like, wavy, fan-shaped rosettes.
•    This “cresting” happens when the plant’s growth point mutates and grows sideways instead of upward, creating dense, ridged folds.
•    Leaves are typically blue-green to silvery gray, sometimes with pink or red edges under bright sunlight.
•    Over time, it can grow into an intricate mound that looks almost sculptural.
______________
☀️ Light Requirements
•    Prefers bright, indirect sunlight or morning sun with afternoon shade.
•    Too much direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, but too little light causes elongation and color fading.
•    Ideal placement: a south- or east-facing window.
______________
🌡️ Temperature
•    Thrives in 18–27°C (65–80°F).
•    Protect it from frost — temperatures below 5°C (41°F) can damage or kill the plant.
______________
💧 Watering
•    Use the “soak and dry” method — water thoroughly, then let the soil dry out completely before watering again.
•    In winter, water very sparingly as the plant goes semi-dormant.
•    Avoid letting water sit in the crevices, as it can lead to rot.
______________
🪴 Soil
•    Needs well-draining succulent or cactus mix.
•    You can improve drainage by adding perlite, pumice, or coarse sand.
•    A shallow pot with drainage holes works best.
______________
🌱 Propagation
•    Propagation is usually done by cutting off part of the crest or from non-crested offsets (which may revert to normal Echeveria form).
•    Leaf propagation is difficult in crested types.
______________
⚠️ Common Problems
•    Overwatering → root or stem rot.
•    Insufficient light → stretched or faded growth.
•    Reversion → parts may revert to normal rosette form; these can be trimmed if you want to maintain the crested shape.
