Echeveria Pink Crested Succulent
🌿 Overview:
The Echeveria Pink Crested is a unique and visually striking form of Echeveria where the plant’s stem has cristate (crested) growth. This means that instead of growing a single rosette, the plant develops a fan-like or wavy ridge of rosettes fused together, creating a sculptural, coral-like appearance. The leaves are typically rosy pink, pastel lavender, or light green, with a powdery coating (farina) that gives them a soft, velvety look.
🌞 Light Requirements
· Needs bright light to maintain its beautiful pink tones.
· Best in 4–6 hours of indirect or filtered sunlight daily.
· If grown indoors, place near a south- or east-facing window.
· Too little light causes it to turn pale or stretch out (etiolation).
💧 Watering
· Follow the “soak and dry” method: Water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry.
· Overwatering can cause root or stem rot, especially in the crested parts.
· In winter, reduce watering significantly since the plant goes semi-dormant.
🪴 Soil & Pot
· Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix.
· Add perlite or pumice for extra drainage.
· Plant in a shallow, wide pot to support the spreading crest.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
· Prefers temperatures between 18°C–28°C (65°F–82°F).
· Protect from frost; avoid exposing below 10°C (50°F).
· Keep humidity low to moderate — avoid misting the leaves.
🌸 Growth & Propagation
· Crested Echeverias rarely revert to normal rosettes, but sometimes small non-crested “pups” appear on the sides.
· You can propagate from these normal rosettes or carefully divide the crest (if large enough).
· Handle with care — crested stems are fragile.
